Washburn Rural's season ends with a 3-2 double overtime loss to Lawrence Free State in the regional finals. After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, the Lady Blues tied the score on goals from Braydi Frederick and Brooklynn Breckenridge to send the game into overtime. Free State scored the game winner with three minutes left in the second overtime to end Rural's season. Despite the loss, the Lady Blues had an amazing year which included a 15-2-1 record (best winning percentage in school history), a Centennial League title and a school record for goals scored in a season with 82! |
