Biography
I am in my 12th year of teaching and my 6th year at Pauline Central. I started teaching Physical Education at Rose Hill Intermediate School in 1998. I was in Rose Hill until 2002 and decided to be adventurous and accepted a Physical Education teaching job in Clear Creek County, Colorado, which is just west of Denver. I taught K-6 P.E. in Colorado but discovered I missed my family and the friendly people in Kansas so moved back to Kansas in 2004. Before teaching I spent 8 years as a Fitness Specialist at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. While there I had the opportunity to help community members as well as rehab patients with health and well-being programs. I worked with the local media in promoting health and also taught programs ranging from prenatal health to training for running races and exercise classes. I come from a family of educators and my youngest brother, Cary, also teaches in Topeka at Seaman High School where he is the Band Teacher. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, cooking, and exercising.
