In his spare time, Mr. Ritchie enjoys reading for pleasure, creative writing, watching movies, surfing the web (especially F acebook), and playing video games.
Biography
Mr. Ritchie describes himself as "a student by nature and a teacher by profession." This year marks his 10th year of teaching. He first teaching assignment was teaching two years of college classes while writing his Master's Thesis over mythology and the evolution of the Legends of King Arthur. Though he originally planned to teach college classes, 7-12 education was much more fun for him. He taught one year in the Junction City district. After five years at Wamego Middle School, he moved to Washburn Rural High School. This is his second year at WRHS and he is thrilled to be here. Mr. Ritchie is also an active member of the National Council of Teachers of English and is a board member and officer for the Kansas Association of Teachers of English. Mr. Ritchie lives in Topeka with his wife, Alice, and their three cats.
