Biography
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and San Antonio, Texas. Always having a strong love for learning and helping others, I was drawn to teaching as a profession during my years at Baylor University. I started out teaching 2nd and 3rd grade at Bethany Elementary School in Plano Independent School District (in the Dallas, Texas area) for six years during which I earned my master's degree in special education and additional certification as a reading teacher, diagnostician, special education teacher, and gifted/talented teacher. In August 2008, my husband and I moved to Topeka, Kansas along with our two small dogs, Libby and Maggie. I enjoyed serving as a special education teacher at Wanamaker Elementary School for the 2008-2009 school year, and I am elated to be part of the Farley Elementary School community as Literacy Instructional Coach for the 2009-2010 school year.
