I grew up in Manhattan, Kansas and went to Luckey High School which was a small parochial school. My graduating class was the
largest in school history with a whopping 40 students! After high school, I went to K-State and graduated with a Bachelor in
Music Education in 1982. My first teaching job was in Sabetha, Kansas as band director grades 5-12. For several years there I
was also the cheerleader sponsor and even had Mrs. Mary Howard as a band student and cheerleader! My husband's job brought us
to Topeka in 1996. I spent 2 years substituting in Topeka and the surrounding area. In 1998 I had the opportunity to substitue
at Jay Shideler teaching music 1-6 which soon became an actual job. Things have changed a little since 1998 as we now have
all-day kindergarten, there is a different principal and are different teachers and a whole different set of studetns. But some
things remain the same, especially my love of music and my desire to give your children the best musical experience possible!
