Biography
Mrs. Evans was born and raised in Topeka. She graduated from Topeka West and went on to earn her AA from Allen County Community College in Burlingame, KS. From there Mrs. Evans traveled back and forth to Emporia everyday to earn her bachelors degree in elementary education. After graduation, Mrs. Evans was hired on as the Literacy Coach at Wanamaker. The next year she moved to second grade where she has been for 3 years. At the end of the 2009 school year Mrs. Evans missed the last week of school due to the early arrival of her first daughter, Kira Marie. Mrs. Evans lives with her daughter, husband, and four cats in the Auburn-Washburn area. Mrs. Evans is the fourth generation in her family to be at Wanamaker. Her mom and grandpa went to school here and her great grandfather was the principal (and janitor because the school was a lot small then).
