Biographical Information
I
am a graduate of Lawrence High (Class of 1995). I attended
the University of Kansas, changed majors several times, and
graduated
with a degree in English in 2001. I started at Washburn
University in the Fall of 2002, student taught at Washburn
Rural High School in the spring of 2004, and recieved my secondary English/Language Arts certification in August of 2004. I
taught at Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas from 2004 to 2006. In the fall of 2006 I came back to teach at
Washburn Rural and I started my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Educational Technology at
Washburn University. I completed my Master's degree in May of 2009.
I am a member of the KATE (Kansas Association of Teachers of English) executive board, I was
awarded
the NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) Leadership
Development Award in 2007, and I became the head of the English
Department in the summer of 2008.
I was married the June 2nd 2006. Here is a picture of my wife, Heather, and I on our honeymoon in St. Lucia.

My wife and I got a dog in the summer of 2007. His name is Arthur.
